The Polish Palette July 2018 Swatches and Review
There is a new collaboration coming up between two of my favorite brands! Rogue Lacquer and Tonic Nail Polish have joined forces to create a quarterly quartet based off a set color palette. The inaugural Polish Palette July 2018 takes its inspiration from a desert-like set of hues and each shade is named after a famous desert. The set is priced at a discounted $40, and the individual shades may or may not be offered individually much later in the makers' stores at higher prices. Buy now to be sure you get them for a deal! The launch is July 1 in the Tonic Nail Polish store and it will be a pre-order until July 7. Let's have a look!

Here is the colorway that inspired this first set:
Rogue Lacquer Gobi is an emerald green jelly foil with scattered holo shimmer and purple-to-gold multichrome flakes. I wore it in three thin coats, but two will do. It dries pretty quickly. It is not quite self-leveling so I recommend thinner coats. There is a lot of sparkle here and I love how reflective it is. It might also work as a top coat over a complementary shade.
Rogue Lacquer Sonoran is a chartreuse neon with red shimmer, silver holo microglitters, and aqua-to-indigo duochrome microflakes. I wore it in three thin coats and it was super bright. This needs a single layer of top coat to smooth and level.
Tonic Nail Polish Antarctic is a blue-gray jelly with super-strong scattered holo and green-to-indigo and red-to-green iridescent multichrome flakes. Wow does this pack a punch! I don't know that I have many other polishes this holo and vibrant to be honest. I wore it in four thin coats, but two or three will do, or it can be used as a topper over another shade. It has a bit of the skunky flake smell but honestly I love that smell. Why? Because it usually means it is an awesome color, lol. Antarctic requires top coat to smooth and I used Tonic Nail Polish's own Tonic Topper, which is a quick-drying and shiny product.
Finally we have the magnetic! Tonic Nail Polish Saharan is a cinnamon orange shimmer with gold magnetic shimmer - it will appear golder without the charge and where you hold an attracting magnet. It is nicely opaque and covers in two thin coats. This will also work for stamping. The magnet is not included but I used a standard neodymium bar magnet I got off ebay ages ago. Great formula and fast dry time. It reminds me of Lava Lust from the brand's debut, which is one of my favorite Tonic shades!
